Photo Shop Tools Assignment

Part 1: Questions
1. What type of brush must be used when layer masking and clone stamping?  A soft brush

2. What key on the keyboard is pressed to select an area to be cloned when using the Clone Stamp tool?  The option key

3. Explain the difference between making a selection with the Lasso tool and creating a Path with the Pen tool.  With the lasso tool, a person is taking a selection from a photograph and moving it to another section of the photo that might be missing a piece from the photo.  The selection must match with the area around the missing part.  With creating a path with the Pen tool, you are making an edge around a photo that can attain for curves in the object.  This way you can crop out the background and keep the photo intact.

4. What is the benefit of using a Layer Mask as opposed to using an Eraser?  The benefit is you can make changes to a photograph without making changes to the original copy.  This allows a person to go back a photo and make other necessary changes that need to be made and being able to see the original photo.

5. What is "non-destructive" editing and why is it an important approach for a photographer using Photoshop?  Non-destructive editing is making layers in photoshop so a person can make changes to a photograph without changing the original copy.  Another way of non-destructive editing is making layer masks to layers.  It is an important approach for a photographer using Photoshop because it makes sure the photographer doesn't change the original copy of a photo and keeps the photographer from making a major mistake.
